there are several cats that share their lifes with us for more than ten years. it is fascinating to see their development through the years and we feel great to know that the NFO is basically a healthy breed, giving the cats the chance to live with us without serious problems (exception cancer). last update  december 13th 2006

GIC Avalanche v. Wunderbaum, silvertortie/white, born 1993, was one of the living kittens of our very first litter out of Rapunzel and Silverman. it was a litter of 6 - she came last, waiting for more then 3 hours to leave mama. she never had children. On shows, she often was a horror to the judges, who nevertheless were fond about her size. On monday, june 19th, we had to help her to pass the rainbow bridge - cancer had her dehydrated so fast we had no chance to help her with fluids she finally rejected....

MiekMiek aka Bina Florina  v. Wunderbaum, tortie/white, also born in 1993, was the first Euro Champion in our cattery, making us so proud we had flown with her also to a show in Estonia. Despite having some litters with her we decided not to continue with the lines behind her. Four weeks after Avalanche, also she had to pass the rainbow bridge: mammary cancer had spread to the lungs she had nearly no more chance to breathe.

IC Icecats Mandoline reign  silvertortie/white, born 1995, was an important part in our breed. Despite she was sometimes less than 3 kg, she made very heavy and also typeful babys - one of them Smarty (please have a look for our females). like lots of females she also was hit by a mammary carcinoma, she underwent surgery and  and neutered immediately, after this she gained weight and became more and more peculiar - a trend you can observe on many cats late neutered. she survived one year longer than the vet expected, only to die this autumn (2007)

GIC/ EP Emanuel Empir v. Wunderbaum, smoke/white, born 1995, was thought to continue the lines via the e-litter. then we got back his brother Jazzy, and Emanuel got his only purpose as pet, as his brother was the better for show and breeding. He is the most tender neutre in our houshold and as majordomus he is the one to inspect all visitors.

EC Effaniffenable v. Wunderbaum, also known as Jazzy, a brother to Emanuel Empir, silvertabby/white, is known as the male with the golden fang; he had to be on dental surgery when he came back from another „breeder“ who did not care about his injurys. He was  the oldest stud in our gang and also the boss in his group. being gentle to humans he is a fighter when it comes to the ranking in the group. He now got neutered, too.
Saphira av Senja,  silverclassictabby, born 2001, was meant to bring very nerw lines to our „club“. after she had her first litter we made a first HCM test - already alarming. two of her three kittens also had health problems too, so we decided to stop breeding with her and neutered her. she now lives a calm life with a very good friend of us together with a very calm and old NFO male, we see her occasional and take care for her veterinarian needs. a second HCM test in december 2006 revealed that her heart problems had developed ito a mild hcm.

Silbermann aka Ch. Hopeless Tribes Bacardi Cocktail  bluesilvertabby/white with lot of rufism came to us in 1992. He made beautiful babys, was the real foundation stud in our cattery (generation 1) - but no show cat at all: after less than 5 km in the kennel to go to a show he startet to become really „seasick“ - something he luckyly did not give to his children. together with his father EC Flatland’s Daniel, born 1990, who is still active till today he was  the best example for the long living of NFO. unfortunately he suffered from an unforeseen stroke on sunday, november 12th 2006 and we had to put him to sleep.
