Nele v. Wunderbaum

Short intro:

Since 15 years, our cattery is growing in the northwestern suburbs of Hamburg. We are owned by approximately 20 forestcats now. One of the most important issues for us is the health of our gang - more important than any big show results. Significant are two items: most of our „foundation cats“ are still alive, living with us and are fit - and we proudly can present 7 generations in a row - all still in our house with only one exception. a genealogy you rarely see in another cattery.
Since the early 90ies our Wunderbaum cattery is dedicated to the conservation of those beautiful Norwegian Forestcats – in short NFO (in Europe) or NFC (in the USA). In the „magic forest“ of our „mystery trees“ (that’s what our cattery name means in translation) we since then raise carefully about 2-3 litters a year (10 babys in average) to keep enough time to care for the kittens and also for the search for their new homes. And as our breeding crew is not a kitten mill but part of our family, also the seniors stay with us after they have retired.
Nevertheless we also look for show success, and also the very few cats that went to other breeders were absolute stars on shows.
Although living in the north of Germany (close to Hamburg) we joined a danish breeding club (JYRAK –> adherent to the international FIFé) for its significant better care for cat health purposes and more of course. More infos you may see on our german homepage (that is quite updated only up to 2004 - the actual developments are for the moment only documented here).
